Laboratory Worker
This position is located in the New World Screwworm Facility (NWSF), Field Operations (FiOps), Veterinary Services (VS), Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS). This position acts as a Laboratory Worker, providing support in laboratory setting focused on New World Screwworm (NWS) activities. APHIS is an emergency response agency.New World Screwworm
- The duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Assemble, disassemble, clean and reassemble various instruments and equipment of varying complexity.
- Ensure all equipment and materials required for laboratory testing are prepared and available.
- Prepares routine statistical reports for supervisory review.
- Oversee and participate in laboratory and field activities to ensure efficient workflow and compliance with procedures.
- Provide recommendation reports to supervisory staff, identifying operational issues and proposing corrective actions.
- Submit detailed reports on special tests and assigned projects.
- Maintain quarterly inventory of departmental equipment and track weekly consumption levels.
- Order supplies, materials, and other resources needed to support laboratory operations.
- Follow all safety instructions, policies, and procedures; monitor the work area for safety hazards and report concerns promptly.
