PUBLIC AFFAIRS SPECIALIST

You will serve as a PUBLIC AFFAIRS SPECIALIST in the PUBLIC AFFAIRS OFFICE of the COMFLEACT YOKOSUKA. ***ACCESS TO MEDICAL AND DENTAL CARE IN JAPAN IS EXTREMELY LIMITED. Please see Additional Information section below.***


  • You will research, write stories and articles, take photographs and provide layout for the weekly base newsletter, and assists in the editing, production, and distribution of said publications.
  • You will create informational material like graphics, videos, and audio-visual presentations using Adobe software.
  • You will shoot, edit, and produce material for command information programs including public service announcements, base resource features and videos centered on informing the Navy community.
  • You will assist in the creation, direction, production, editing, and dissemination of audio/visual products released by the Public Affairs Office.
  • You will assist in the coordination and execution of special events and community relations events with the Japanese public.

Requirements

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience developing and producing print and digital media using audio visual equipment and software (e.g. writing articles, photography, assisting in newsletter layouts, and editing) AND Experience preparing and circulating Informational material such as graphics, print, and audio-visual presentations.
