Management Analyst

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is the nation's premier biomedical and behavioral research agency, seeking fundamental knowledge to lengthen life and reduce illness. We are seeking a highly motivated Management Analyst (GS-0343-13) to drive organizational efficiency, optimize administrative operations, and provide data-driven recommendations that empower our scientific and administrative teams to achieve our critical public health mission.


Lead teams of specialists or individually conduct in-depth studies, reviews, evaluations, and assessments of issues and proposals assigned. Determine the functionality of unique organizational structures and provide coordination among key participants for the long-range planning and development of organizational strategies to meet objectives and mission. Initiate and execute very complex administrative and management projects. Utilize expert skills in studying work methods, administrative guidelines, procedures, utilization of human resources, work assignments, delegations of authority, management controls, information and documentation systems, etc. Analyze and evaluate findings and recommend more efficient, effective and economical ways to accomplish workload and program objectives. Participate in planning sessions. Establish and maintain contacts with other Government agencies and private organizations to exchange information. Design and conduct comprehensive management studies to identify and propose solutions to management problems.


Requirements

To qualify for a Management Analyst position at the GS-0343-13 level, you must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: 1.) Employing analytical techniques to resolve productivity problems across organizational segments. 2.) Establishing study methods for audits and interpreting independently developed findings. 3.) Developing recommendations for work method changes and systems improvements. AND 4.) Analyzing administrative operations and developing strategies to improve program implementation.
